George W Bush admits failure in Bob Woodward’s The War Within
In a rare admission of disappointment, he (Bush) continued: "And you know,
one of my failures has been to change the tone in Washington. And it’s the
failure of others as well."

Woodward: Military Opposed Surge
The idea of throwing another 30,000 troops into Iraq was a desperate gamble
in a dark time. And only now are we finding out just how much opposition there
was by the nation’s top military leaders.

Top Investigative Reporter: US Spies on Iraqi PM
A top U.S. investigative reporter says the Bush administration has
extensively spied on Iraqi officials, including Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
I’m kind of trouble by another Woodward statement:
According to the Post, Woodward also says that last year’s troop surge in
Iraq was not the primary factor behind the steep drop in violence there.
Instead, Woodward points to what he calls "groundbreaking" covert programs to
track and kill insurgent leaders.
I wonder what that means. Does anyone have a clue??

Another great post. It gave me the idea to repost something I’d written a few days ago…”It Is Still A Toxic Mix: Religion and Politics”.
It’s astonishing to me that so many select to “close their eyes” to the obvious. Palin is FOR just about everything mainstream America is against…but, hey! She’s a woman.
When I hear women say they’ll vote for her based on her gender, I wonder if they really do have no critical thinking skills.
Keep up the great work.
