A landmark breakthrough was announced today between Democratic and Republican negotiators in both the House and Senate on the contentious issue of health care reform.

The Republicans are delighted.

The Democrats got pretty much all they were hoping for, including a public option for health care insurance, but the Republicans successfully inserted a provision whereby they can send “Compassionate Conservative” squads to every hospital, clinic, and Emergency Room, and have the power to tell those institutions which Americans (and non-Americans) are allowed to receive medical care.

House Republican leader, John Boehner, praised the breakthrough, claiming it will save the government billions of dollars on unnecessary medical expenses.

In general, people are wonderful, but alas, so easily manipulated!

They did it to John Kerry, and we ended up with the worst US President in history, plus a trillion-dollar unnecessary war. Now they are trying it again with dis-information about the most compassionate of all Christian services: Helping the sick.

If you don’t know who Rick Scott is then you don’t know who is duping you. This is the false prophet. Scott is the money-changer you let into your temple. Scott is a big health care CEO (whose company by the way was fined $1.7 BILLION) who is financing the disruption of the town hall meetings. He is the temptor who has cause you to stumble into the gospel of hatred for your fellow man. His “salvation” (money) is to get you to serve corporate profits instead of your fellow man.

One Master said “Feed my sheep,” “As ye do to the least of these my brothers, you do unto me.” Perhaps you can appreciate how that would be served by universal health care?
The other “master” says, “shout them down,” and “voice your anger.” Does that really serve your mission to be the spreader of the Good News?

I truly feel sorry for good-hearted people who have been drawn into the hatred of political extremism and who honestly think they are serving Christ, when in fact they are serving corporate lobbyists. What a shame!

Violence Breaks Out at Democratic Town Halls

Angry mobs protesting health care reform continue to crop up at Democratic town halls across the country, with shouts and shoves most recently exchanged in both Tampa, Fla. and St. Louis, Mo.

The event was sponsored by sponsored by state Rep. Betty Reed and the Service Employees International Union, but many protesters said they were prompted to attend by the Tampa 912 activist group promoted by conservative television personality Glenn Beck, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

Scott, a multimillionaire investor and controversial former hospital chief executive, has become an unlikely and prominent leader of the opposition to health-care reform plans that Congress is expected to take up later this year. It’s the year 2025, and I’m taking a ride in my solar-powered scooter through the back country of rural Montana. We have decided to visit the Amerish Country. Modeled after the Amish religious group, the GOP is now holed up in a series of “compounds” populated by the last remnants of the Neo-Cons. They refused to summon up the mental courage to face America’s challenges, favoring instead to deny anything that fosters progress. They denied global warming, denied allowing minorities on the Supreme Court, and are still denying the reality of Obama’s birth certificate.

I know I’m getting closer to the compound, as I can see the rusted out hulks of old Hummer vehicles. Now I see the Shrine of the Almighty Dollar as I approach the entrance. I like to tour the old ammo caches and hoards of assault weapons. Oh, there’s Governor Sanford with his three wives selling admission tickets.

I kind of feel sorry for them now, as their “golden god” donkey is now just a weed infested clump of tarnished brass. Worshiping money, they have no currency. Hating science and electricity, they live by candle power. Ah, there’s old Dick Cheney selling confederate flags (made in China) at the newsstand. I pay him in real copper pennies, knowing he gets a kick out of precious metal. Goodbye, GOP, my old friend. Maybe if things get real bad, President Malia Obama will allow you to open a casino on Amerish land.

Universal studios just announced the disgraced governor will be starring in a remake of Man of LaMancha.

Chasing windmills

The pro-life group Operation Rescue today announced a new policy to further the principles set forth in the bible against the “spilling of seed.” The group has begun collecting the email and IP addresses of U.S. males to monitor their access to pornographic sites, and will send “chastity squads” to the homes of anyone suspected of touching themselves.

“Life is sacred,” announced spokeswoman Marilyn Chambers, “and any males who m@$turb@te are killing thousands of their own potential offspring. It is our duty to protect these unborn babies.” The board of directors was split, along gender lines, on this new policy. Rod Stout, one of the board members protested that “spermatozoa are not yet a fully functioning human being.” The majority felt, however, that “life begins in the scrotum” and see an eventual prohibition on any man pleasuring himself without  “taking all steps necessary to ensure impregnation.”

Operation Rescue, at the same time, annouced a fundraising campaign for the computer equipment that will be required to house the “Spilt Seed” database of male voyeurs. It’s estimated they will required 660 terabytes of storage capacity for the expected deluge of offenders.

Bill Moyers had a show on today (Friday, 29th) where he describes a documentary
called “Torturing Democracy.”

It’s a study on how Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Tennet, and John Yoo conspired to nullify the Geneva Conventions and allow torture by the US military. Cheney later pushed through legislation that gave the perpetrators retroactive immunity for their war crimes.

I wonder . . . Can the same authority used to arrest Manual Noriega be used by another country, say Spain, to arrest top Bush officials for war crimes???

I’m one of those folks who has actually READ the 4 gospels, and I can assure you,
the pro-torture argument that Dick Cheney is making is at the opposite end of
the spectrum from what is revealed in those books.

(Chris Matthews show) and religious(?) leader Pat Roberston defends
Cheney! Unbelievable.
This is the “Pro-Life,” “Family Values,” “What would Jesus Do” crowd??
That is what I call hypocrisy, and delusion, if not deception.

I dunno . . . I kind of envision angels weeping over such distortions of truth.
