How stupid do they think we are?

How stupid do they think we are??!

7 years of gas price rises, and SUDDENLY, just before the election, the price
starts to drop.
6 years of devastating war in Iraq, and SUDDENLY, just before the election, the
surge is working.
5 years of the tax cuts that are "working" for the wealthiest Americans, while
slick brokerage traders make million-dollar bonuses, and just before Bush goes
out of office, then SUDDENLY we have to rescue Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and
Lehman Brothers.
7 years of Bush cronies being indicted or forced to resign, and SUDDENLY the GOP
is for "change." They put up a "maverick" who will "shake up Washington, but,
Whoops!, she’s already under investigation for abuse of power.

How stupid do they think we are??!

What? Sarah Palin has lifted McCain in the polls!!??
Ohh! Maybe we ARE stupid!
Never mind!

  1. I don’t want to necessarily say that were all stupid but clearly we are not very bright. Bush wants to leave the white house looking like a champion and thats probably how he will be remembered. Thus the rescue of Fannie and Freddie and the so called success of the surge. However the next president is sure to immediately start talking down the economy he will want the economy to hit rock bottom early in his time in office so he can blame it on Bush. It’s a game. And were being played. Don’t even get me started on gas.

  2. I think you’re smart enough to know that it’s a little more complicated than this.

Gas prices are still rising and there’s very little any president can do about it. Bush dropped the ball on alternative energy, but realistically that research is a long term goal and would have had no immediate effect anyway. He did drop the ban on offshore drilling, which would bridge the gap until we reach that alternative solution, but congress shot it down.

The surge was working before this election, and you don’t have to be “stupid” to believe it. Unless you think Obama is stupid too. You’d be hard pressed to find a politician who thinks it hasn’t worked.

Also, your opposition to trickle down economics is questionable, because it’s the system that put us where we are today. Markets are cyclical, and eventually, if the fed keeps a low profile, everything will return to normal. But those Bush tax cuts certainly did put off a recession and increase capital.

  3. Love your thoughts.🙂

  4. kolchak33 has a point. The surge didn’t suddenly start working. It’s been working effectively, and that is agreed upon by most politicians, including Obama.
Gas prices dropping, actually happens every year after summer time. This has nothing to do with the president. It’s because the gas is less refined. If you’re referring to the price which oil is SOLD to US? Yeah, we don’t really name our prices on that.
I already made my points on the tax cuts on the next post. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is a government backed entity that the government is almost required to bail out. Yeah, I hate it too, but FDR put it in place and no administration would privatize it after the depression. I mean fully privatize it where the government didn’t back it and it would follow SEC guidelines.
Maybe…Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac hasn’t been privatized because of all the lobbying dollars it has given to politicians? WOW! I seriously just figured this out. It has given 4.8 million dollars to congressmen, the second most recipient being Obama. What do you think he’s gonna do??? McCain never received contributions, although he did have stocks and bonds in the company. So, wouldn’t you say, IN THIS CASE, McCain could best handle this situation because he has been the least tainted by their lobbying dollars??
